"Woman" -That word means different things to different people. I asked my kids what they thought of when I said that word and my oldests first response was "well, that depends... what kind of woman do you mean?" Its true, we are all different and yet we are all from the same mold. We were all created for the same basic purpose -to be a helper to "Man" in the Garden. Woman was "suitable" for man in a way that nothing else was. The animals and the work Man was given were not enough to complete him. It was Woman (and not another Man, I will add), that completed Man -and Creation itself.
It has always intrigued me that it is stated, "Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden" (Gen 2:15). He was not created in the beauty and glory of the Garden of Eden but brought to it. However, Man is in the Garden when God causes the deep sleep to fall upon him and Woman is created right there -in the Garden. I love this! It says that Woman was created in beauty and perfection. Maybe why we all strive for those things in our own homes and lives?
To me "Woman" means feminine; gentle yet strong; nurturing; supporter; encourager; and so many other things.
What does "Woman" mean to you?
What does "Woman" mean to God?

I had not noticed the sequence before. Man was created, the Garden was created, then Woman was created. By implication the beauty of the Garden was created for man with the crowning beauty . . .Woman. All of this created by and for the most beautiful of all . . .Our Lord!
ReplyDeleteto me, woman means life giver, in birth, and in setting the tone of the home.
